The Christian Post reported on results of a Public Policy Polling survey that showed Jesus Christ as the second most popular person in America, just behind Abraham Lincoln. While 91 percent of those Americans polled had a favorable view of Lincoln, 90 percent viewed Christ with favor. Martin Luther King Jr. weighed in at 74 percent, Mother Teresa at 83 percent and George Washington at 86 percent.

PPP issued the national poll when a Wisconsin poll showed 89 percent of residents viewed Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers with favor, a record-breaking level of popularity. They began to wonder if anyone could top those numbers, so they issued the national poll testing even more figures “with near universal appeal.” Other figures included in the poll were Santa Claus, receiving 67 percent popularity, Mohandas Gandhi and Nelson Mandela with 64 percent, and Steve Jobs with 62 percent.
